Digital Sign Technologies Introduces PHT Nozzle Assessment System for Objective, Automated Printhead Nozzle Analysis and Scoring
PHT Nozzle Assessment System identifies suboptimal nozzles, delivers objective printhead health scores, and documents recovery progress.
Mississauga, Ontario, Canada – Digital Sign Technologies Inc. (DST) announces its PHT Nozzle Assessment System.
The PHT Nozzle Assessment System is designed for comprehensive printhead nozzle analysis. Using advanced software and a high-resolution vision system, it evaluates nozzle health, generates an overall printhead health score, and provides detailed insight into the condition of each nozzle and the printhead as a whole.
Together, DST's Print Head Doctor (PHD), Print Head Tester (PHT), and PHT Nozzle Assessment System form an end-to-end solution for printhead maintenance, cleaning and recovery, testing, and automated, objective assessment. The PHD cleans and recovers printheads, the PHT tests their performance, and the PHT Nozzle Assessment System analyzes nozzle condition and scores the results to support informed decisions before printheads return to production.

Instead of relying only on visual inspection of a nozzle test, users receive an objective, software-based assessment of individual nozzle condition and the printhead as a whole.
Developed by Digital Sign Technologies Inc. (DST), the PHT Nozzle Assessment System expands the capabilities of the Print Head Tester from independent printhead testing into detailed, automated nozzle analysis.
The system supports evaluations after cleaning, recovery, storage or shipment; before installation or critical production runs; and when troubleshooting print-quality problems. Technicians can use the results to help determine whether a printhead is ready for production, needs additional recovery, or should be retained or replaced.
Beyond on-screen analysis, the software generates Individual Printhead Reports and Printhead Group Reports. Individual reports document nozzle assessments and overall scores. Group reports show the progression from an initial test through the first and subsequent cleaning or recovery cycles to the final condition, helping users evaluate whether each step produced measurable improvement.
The PHT platform can also operate as an Ink Tester, when configured with a known-good printhead, allowing industrial users to evaluate ink jettability as part of a broader quality-control process.
Designed for industrial print shops, packaging and label printers, OEMs, printhead and ink manufacturers, service technicians, refurbishers, dealers and R&D laboratories, the PHT Nozzle Assessment System helps users document results, standardize assessments and make better-informed printhead maintenance and reuse decisions.
